I began a series of miniture lino prints inspired by the essentric and perculiar designs of the Nintendo franchise: Pikmin.

Pikmin’s art style is a blend of whimsical, organic realism and cute. The world is lush and detailed, with soft, painterly textures that make the environments feel rich and alive.
The Pikmin themselves are small, plant-like creatures with tiny limbs, large, unsettling eyes, and sprouting stems on their heads (which eventually bloom into flowers). Despite not speaking, their movements and little sounds give them so much personality.
As I was preparing to move to London, I made these prints using Stirchley Print Works Victorian Cast Iron Britannia Relief Printing Press.
